  Best korean bbq in Baltimore. Period.
  
  Service is excellent and the drinks are cheaper than Ellicott city.
  
  Gets super busy at night, especially on the weekends so make sure to call in advance!

  WARNING: NOT All-You-Can-Eat
  
  This bustling KBBQ place uses charcoal rather than the typical gas stove. It's a little bit pricier than many places in the area but totally worth it if you like the charcoal bbq taste. You also have the option to order off the menu rather than do the charcoal grill.
  
  If there is a wait, there's a cozy, dimly lit  bar upstairs with karaoke rooms for you to chill at. The bartender will let you know when your table is ready.
  
  We selected a group combo option for our bbq. There are different combo that include  a variation of meats. You can order small or large depending on the amount of people you have. We got the small because we had ordered other dishes too. It included ribs, spicy pork belly, boneless rib meat, and brisket. Each meat was good quality and seasoned mildly which is proper for kbbq. The combo came with many banchan side dishes including steamed egg and  a small stew.
  
  Other dishes we ordered were:
  Korean seafood pancake which was a solid choice.
  Jjampong (seafood noodle soup) - This was my favorite dish! It is huge and loaded with an assortment of fresh seafoods, slightly thick noodle (like neoguri), and vegetables. I would recommend this if it's cold out and you love seafood.

  Jong Kak did not disappoint. We ordered an $80 meat entree that came with four types of meat. I was happy to see that the BBQ was charcoal, not electric, so the heat charred the pork well, giving it a woody flavor. The meat was also tender and sliced thinly with a hint of spice.
  
  All in all, Jong Kak is a diamond in the rough. 20th street is not the safest place to be, and the restaurant's exterior does not look inviting. However, give this place a try - you will be pleasantly surprised!

  Wow, Jong Kak, you were really off your game last night and I am not sure why.
  
  Four of us came here for the delicious Korean BBQ. There were plenty of servers and it was busy but there is no excuse for the shenanigans that went on here last evening.
  
  We were seated right away. Then it took 10-15 minutes to place our order. We had to beg for our drinks, for napkins, for utensils, and for plates. The meat kept burning because the servers were so clearly disorganized, overwhelmed, and unprepared. We finally just started cooking our own meat.
  
  But the servers kept taking our charcoal away even though all of our meat was not cooked. It was really, really weird. We finally had to tackle someone to get the check.
  
  The food was amazing, as always, but the service was really unprofessional, disorganized, and chaotic. I will, of course, come back and hopefully, Jong Kak will be better prepared to provide mediocre to excellent service.

  Love love love this place!
  
  It is by far the best Korean place there is to eat in the Baltimore area! I come here for many special occasions, holidays, and when friends are in town, and Friday! Lol
  
  They use a traditional method of hot coals to cook the Korean bbq meats and vegetables, making the food taste amazing!  They also offer a large variety of Korean small dishes, kimchi's, lettuce, and rice all apart of the meal for no additional cost. The group deals are pretty fair, about $30-$40 a person, a little more if you order additional foods and side.
  
  There is parking in front of the restaurant and on the side, I've never had an issue finding parking ever and come here often.
  
  The staff is very friendly and if you don't know what you're doing they will explain how to order and how to cook the foods. They understand the food can be intimidating at first if you've never had some of the items.
  
  I highly recommend stopping here at least once, I guarantee once you try it you'll be back!
  
  Also, they have an upstairs Korean karaoke bar, which is must check out! If you've never been it's the best/only way to do karaoke. They do offer a discount if you eat downstairs first!
